Precautionary Boil Water Notice for Customers South of Cemetary Road
Water service was interrupted Saturday evening (8/16/25) due to a damaged water main affecting water service to all City of Tallahasse customers south of Cemetary Road, including but not limited to Woodville, Woodville Acres, River Plantation, Wakulla Station, City of St. Marks. The water service has been restored, but a Precautionary Boil Water Notice (PBWN) is being issued to the widespread area impacted by the service disruption. Customers have been notified via telephone (voice) and email/text from the City’s Everbridge Alert System. Samples will be collected as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Department of Health. The PBWN may be rescinded (lifted) after two consecutive days of clean samples.

What is a precautionary boil water notice?
A precautionary boil water notice may be issued in the event of a water main break, a loss of power or water pressure, or another emergency that may create the opportunity for contaminants to enter the pipes. The precautionary boil water notice does not mean that the water is contaminated; however, if you receive one, the City recommends – as a precaution – that you boil your tap water before consuming it.
