To enhance safety and mobility options in the area, the City of Tallahassee began construction of the Pullen Road Sidewalk Improvements Project. The purpose of the project is to construct a new sidewalk along the south side of Pullen Road from the existing sidewalk near Old Bainbridge Road to the existing sidewalk at Fred Smith Road.

The City hosted a community meeting on April 11, 2023, to share design options and project details. Staff from the City’s Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure Department were present to discuss the project and answer questions.

Project construction began on January 6, 2025, and is expected to be completed in summer 2025, barring any unanticipated delays. Construction hours will generally be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Once construction begins, it will be necessary to close lanes along Pullen Road during the workday.
